This one year accredited program gives you an extensive educational experience. Its curriculum focuses on five areas such as sports medicine, spinal deformity, pediatric trauma & fracture care, neuromuscular disease and hip & lower extremity disorders. In addition to access to clinical resources, you are also expected to finish your scholarly project.
University of Colorado Program (ucdenver.edu)
The orthopaedic fellowship programs are designed to equip you with the expertise in academic and clinical practice in this specialty. You also get research opportunities while you get more clinical experiences by participating in trauma call coverage and through rotations. Pre and post operative conferences are also available.
Seattle Children’s Hospital Program (seattlechildrens.org)
This program embraces a mentorship model where you get to work with a full time pediatric orthopedic surgeon in both the clinic and the operating room. You are expected to complete two research projects and participate in weekly conferences. It only lasts a year and only accepts one fellows.
Baylor College of Medicine Program (bcm.edu)
The orthopaedic fellowship programs offered here are open for 2 fellows annually. You will spend 6 months at the Texas Children’s Hospital and another 6 months at the Shriners Hospital to complete your fellowship. Two clinical research projects are encouraged to be completed.
University of Tennessee Program (uthsc.edu)
This 12 month program prepares you for a career in the academia or in private practice through research and clinical training. You will also gain the competency in the evaluation and treatment of many pediatric orthopaedic problems. Trainings with supervisions are also conducted to help you learn the surgical techniques. Skills in publication, laboratory research, lecturing and teaching are also improved and developed.
